Al-Araf
وَٱخۡتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوۡمَهُۥ سَبۡعِينَ رَجُلٗا لِّمِيقَٰتِنَاۖ فَلَمَّآ أَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلرَّجۡفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوۡ شِئۡتَ أَهۡلَكۡتَهُم مِّن قَبۡلُ وَإِيَّٰيَۖ أَتُهۡلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ ٱلسُّفَهَآءُ مِنَّآۖ إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّا فِتۡنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَآءُ وَتَهۡدِي مَن تَشَآءُۖ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَٱرۡحَمۡنَاۖ وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡغَٰفِرِينَ
155And Musa ( ) chose a group of seventy persons from his people to meet Us at the appointed time and place of meeting. And when a vio-lent earthquake seized them, Musa ( ) said: “O my Creator, if You willed, You could have destroyed them before this and me too. Would You destroy us for the activities of the foolish ones among us? Indeed, it is a test from You by which You lead astray whom You will and keep on guidance whom You will. You are our Protector. Hence, forgive us and have Mercy on us, since You are the Best of those who forgive.
