Al-Baqarah
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٖ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
96[O Muhammad ( )!] (On the contrary), you will find them greedier for a longer worldly life even more than those who ascribe partners (to Allah; i.e. the idolaters etc.). Every one of them wishes to have a life of a thousand years, although this granting of long life will not save them from the punishment. And Allah is All-Seer of what they do.
